AIRM® was created by the expert clinicians at Bellevue Trauma Recovery Center® (BTRC), pioneers in trauma-informed care. Founded by therapists and close friends Jessica, Connie, and Elizabeth, BTRC® has decades of experience in complex trauma treatment. The co-founders recognized the need for specialized approaches to address the emerging challenges of AI-affected relationships. AIRM® Treatment Framework Includes:

AIRM® is a trauma-informed, integrative model for supporting clients impacted by relationships with AI or other forms of artificial intimacy. It addresses the emotional, relational, and behavioral impacts of these experiences by helping clients disentangle synthetic attachment from authentic human connection, repair relational and attachment wounds, and develop healthier patterns of intimacy. The model combines individual, and relational interventions tailored to each client’s needs, grounding clinical work in a multi-theoretical framework that informs assessment, formulation, and treatment planning.

AIRM® Level 1: Foundations

The Level 1 AIRM® training provides clinicians with foundational knowledge about artificial intimacy and AI-mediated relationships. This program focuses on understanding the emotional, relational, and behavioral dynamics of AI relationships, educating clinicians about potential impacts such as AI psychosis, reinforcement and feedback loops, and other patterns to be aware of in clinical practice. Participants will deepen their understanding of emerging clinical challenges in the digital age and explore trauma-informed, attachment-based, and narrative frameworks to contextualize these experiences.
